Here's an economic alternative to Braille writing equipment, particularly valuable for those looking at purchasing multiple slates for a group of students or an educational agency.

The features of our plastic Standard Slate are identical to our metal version of the product. It still writes four lines of Braille, with 28 cells per line, and is intended for use with standard, letter-sized 8-1/2" X 11" paper. It's Pins Up, meaning the pins that hold the paper in place are on the bottom.

The only difference between this less expensive slate and its pricier counterpart is that this one is made of strong, durable plastic instead of aluminum. But not to worry; the quality of Braille this slate produces is every bit as good as the output from a metal slate.
