Hello there, and thank you for taking time to look at our Braille, tactile, audible, and talking products for anyone who's blind or has low vision. We have hundreds of daily living aids, writing supplies, and recreational items to choose from - but before we dive into all that, we'd first like to tell you a little about our company - and the people behind it.
Blind in Mind, The Braille Superstore is a family-owned business, whose goal has always been to manufacture and supply adapted items for the blind at affordable prices, while not sacrificing quality or customer service in the process. We opened our doors more than twenty-five years ago, and since then have provided tens of thousands of products to blind folks all over the world - making their lives just a bit easier.
Everyone who works here full-time is totally blind; thus we know our products intimately. Before being listed for sale, we rigorously test each new item ourselves to make sure it meets our needs. If we determine we wouldn't use it, then it stands to reason you wouldn't either - hence you won't find it in our catalog! Our wealth of knowledge of each product we offer also makes each one of us somewhat of an expert on our handy aids and appliances; so if you have a question about an item (before or after purchasing it), feel free to get in touch with us.
As with any forward-thinking company, our valued customers are our highest priority - and also our largest asset. We're big enough to handle your inquiries and purchases quickly and efficiently, yet small enough to care about your individual needs.
The shipping team at our Distribution Center is dedicated to ensuring orders are packed and shipped professionally and on time - a responsibility they take very seriously. We're also committed to knowledgeable and friendly customer service, so the person who answers your phone call or responds to your Email has probably used the item you're enquiring about before. Quality Braille publishing, day-to-day administration and lightning-fast replies to all service and support requests are also handled right here, so questions great and small are answered without hold times or slow replies. Finally, our warehouse manager checks and stores all the stock we keep on hand to quickly fill your order, and is ready to ship boxes for immediate shipping at the drop of a hat.
Taking great pride in our work (whatever our individual tasks may be) is a must-have component for a job at Future Aids. And so, you see, we all love the products we produce, and the customers we strive so hard to please. So go ahead, bring us your product questions, order inquiries, compliments, complaints, and whatever else ... and we'll do our level best to help you in whatever way we can.
Product Inquiries. Okay! So you've browsed through our catalog of products, and found a few things you might just like to purchase. If you have additional questions about the items you're interested in, and can't seem to find answers in the info we've written, please feel free to get in touch with us. Just phone us at 1-800-987-1231; or fire off a quick email to info@futureaids.com - and we'll get right back to you!
How to Order. Whether your order is worth ten dollars, or ten times that amount, it's very important to us. We've made it easy for you to make a purchase from us - in whatever way you prefer. You may order online at our secure website, www.BlindinMind.com (simply click the Add to My Cart button below any product you want, then select the Check Out link when you're finished shopping). Orders are also gladly accepted over the phone between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday (just call 1-800-987-1231 within the U.S. and Canada, or +1-250-753-3062 internationally). Lastly, you can mail your order to our office in print or Braille (simply include the names of the items you wish to receive, your complete postal mailing address, and your certified check, international money order, or credit card info to serve as payment).
Payment Methods. The quickest way to pay for your purchases is with a credit card or PayPal. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards). Business checks, international money orders, and bank wire transfers are also viable payment options, but please kindly keep in mind that you'll need to allow additional time for your order to be processed if one of these is used.
Shipping. Unless otherwise requested, all items are securely packaged and mailed through the postal service, free of charge via the Free Matter for the Blind mailing privilege. If your local post office or postman is unable to deliver to your street address, please provide us with your post office box instead. If you would rather we ship your order via a courier service such as UPS or FedEx, we are happy to do so, but keep in mind this is typically quite costly!
Delivery Times. We're very prompt about getting your purchases out the door, and always ship every order within twenty-four hours of receipt. For orders destined anywhere within the continental U.S., the delivery standard for our regular, free ground shipping is three to five business days. Free shipping to Canada takes about ten days to two weeks. If headed for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, or other U.S. possessions, your order will take approximately two weeks to arrive. For anywhere in the United Kingdom, western Europe, and all other international locations, kindly allow around two to three weeks for free delivery with tracking.
Purchase Orders. Yes, we do accept purchase orders from recognized schools, agencies, organizations, and companies. Our payment terms are net 30, and we will send an invoice upon order shipment. You may submit your PO via our website, phone, fax, or through the mail. PO's must come to at least $25.
Commitment to Privacy. These days, it seems, identity theft and fraud are at the forefront of everyone's mind. But we want you to know that we keep all of your personal information in the strictest confidence, and will never share it with anyone else. Period - end of story. We don't provide your contact info to telemarketers or advertising agencies; we don't send out junk mail (unless you specifically request to be added to our mailing list); and we have sophisticated high- and low-tech security systems in place to ensure our records will never be compromised.
Conclusion. So, having said all that, we'd just like to thank you for trusting us with your valued business. We look forward to hearing from you!

To pay for your order, we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. If you wish to place a large order, or have items shipped to obscure destinations, however, we may require prepayment by bank wire.
We've worked hard to set our website up like a real store. So, just as you would in person, the first thing you need to do is select the department you'd like to browse.
For example, let's say you need a talking watch for your grandmother. Have a look at the list of departments down the left-hand side of this page. Right near the top, you'll see one called Timekeeping. That's the department you're looking for, so go ahead and click on it.
Now it's time to select the shelf you want to look at in detail. Right below our logo at the top of the page, you'll see a list of sub-departments in Timekeeping. In this case, it's a watch you're after, so click Talking Watches.
At this point, we'll show you the different talking watches we have on the shelves today. You probably want a nice watch for Grandma, so let's say you pick the Deluxe Talking Watch. Go ahead and click on its picture, or the title of the watch, and we'll tell you all about it. If it's just what you're after, hit the yellow Add to My Cart button, right near the bottom of the page.
If you want to get something else, just select a different department or shelf as we described above, and add more items to your cart.
Now that you're finished filling up your shopping cart, it's time to check out. Back up at the top of the page, to the right of our logo, you'll find the Checkout button. Click that, and we'll take you to the page where you can finish your order.
The first thing we'll ask you for is your name and address, as well as your contact info. After that, we'll give you the chance to fill in a different address. If you want us to mail your new watch right to Grandma, you'd put her address in this section. Finally, we'll ask you for your credit card details. Once entered, hit the yellow "Finish my Order" button, right near the bottom. If for some reason you don't think your info is complete (or you are submitting a purchase order), please click the "Submit as Is" button. We will check over your order and contact you for more info, if necessary.
Check the page that appears to make sure we didn't find any problems with your information. If it all looks good, we'll thank you for proceeding through the checkout - and get your box off to you tomorrow.
Congratulations! You're done. Happy shopping - and please give us a shout if you have further questions!
Naturally, we have our very own website - www.FutureAids.com - and it's one we've worked very hard on.
"Okay," you may be saying to yourself. "Who doesn't have one of those 'online thingies' these days? And why should I even bother to check yours out, anyway?"
Well, we'd like to put forth the ten most convincing arguments why it might just be worth your while to visit our humble little corner of cyberspace ...
10: Product Directions. How many times have you received a gift from someone, only to find yourself unable to figure out how to work it? We've solved this frustrating dilemma by posting concise operating instructions and usage tips for dozens of our most popular items - right on our website, for you to pull up any time you like.
9: International Presence. It's all fine and dandy to say our prices are listed in U.S. Dollars ... But what if you're outside the good ol' USA? No problem: you can choose to have product prices and dimensions displayed in the currency and unit of measure you're most familiar with. We currently support the U.S. and Canada - with more countries to follow shortly!
8: Accessibility. You may think it's obvious, but our website is really and truly 100% accessible for anyone who's blind or has low vision. It works beautifully with screen readers, screen magnification software, as well as for those with 20-20 vision.
7: Friendly and Fun. Our website isn't just a catalog with an endless list of products you can buy. Oh no, it guides you to exactly what you're looking for, with commentary like that of a real store clerk. We've incorporated just the right dose of humor, informativeness, and professionalism to make your online shopping experience easy and enjoyable!
6: Easy to Follow. Yes, it's simple to find your way around our website. It's laid out with departments and categories which are identical to those presented in our catalog. Plus, there's a powerful search feature that allows you to just key in a few words describing the product you're after, and it will pull it up for you ... Just like that!
5: More Information. We have a vast number of products to choose from, so on our site, you'll enjoy detailed, multi-paragraph write-ups on every item we offer. Plus, you can listen to what most of the audible products sound like, and folks with sight will enjoy our full-color photographs. In addition, we are constantly adding new products and books so don't forget to check out our New Products and New Books links.
4: Secure Ordering. As you'd expect, we utilize the industry-standard SSL encryption technology to guarantee your transactions with us are always safe and secure. And ordering online makes it incredibly easy to request products at any hour of the day - or night.
3: Gift-Giving. Shopping for friends and loved-ones is fully supported on our site. We're happy to take your order and mail it directly to your friend or relative's address. In other words, the shipping address does NOT have to match the one where you receive your credit card statements.
2: More Products. On our site, you'll soon discover that we have a lot more to offer, such as Braille greeting cards for all occasions (which you can personalize to your heart's content); over 2,000 Braille books for all interests and reading levels; and numerous highly sought after talking software packages,, including Talking Typing Teacher and Talking Toolbox.
1: BrailleNews. You know, we never take it easy around here. If we're not answering customer inquiries or filling orders, chances are we're hard at work creating entirely new products. And of course, we run sales, promotions, and specials on a regular basis. So how can you keep abreast of all this and more? By subscribing to our free monthly email newsletter called BrailleNews. And you can sign up - you guessed it - on our website! (In case you don't remember how to get there, just point your web browser to www.FutureAids.com .)
