After taking the thermometer out of its plastic case and inserting 2 AAA batteries, replace the battery cover. To use, remove the plastic cap on the end of the unit, work it gently into one ear, and press the large button. The unit will emit two beeps while it scans, then announce "Your body temperature is ..." Replace the plastic cap, and store the unit in its plastic storage box.
How to change the measurement unit between Fahrenheit and Celsius With the unit powered off, press and hold the Scan button for about 5 seconds. The screen will light up, and F/C will blink. Press Scan to adjust whether F or C is shown. Then the unit is ready for use.
