    Product Directions

Directions for theRecording Heart From Future Aids, The Braille Superstore.

    Getting Started
Talking Hearts are high quality voice recorders that allow you to record and playback speech, music, and sound effects. Each heart has a recording time of up to 2 minutes, (120 seconds).

    How to Insert Batteries
Locate battery cover on rear of unit. Use small screw-driver to remove single screw.
Insert three AAA batteries, then replace battery cover.

    How to Record a Message
Turn the heart upside down and move the ON-OFF Switch to the ON position. Move the mode switch to the 'A' position, (Record).
Squeeze the heart once and release. The red light will illuminate and you will hear a beep' sound to indicate recording has begun.
Speak clearly into the microphone at a distance of approximately six inches (15 CM).
When you have finished recording, squeeze the heart once and release. You will hear two 'beeps' to indicate that recording is complete.
    Notes:
The red light will remain on when recording and turn off when recording is complete.
You can only record one single 2 minute message. If you make a mistake during the recording you can re-record as many times as you wish, but the new recorded message will replace the previous one.

How to Play Back a Message
Move the Mode Switch to the 'B position, (Play). Squeeze the heart once and release. If you wish to stop the playback at any time, squeeze again.

    Volume Control and Sound Quality
You can adjust the playback volume by changing the distance you speak from the microphone.
It is recommended that you record your message in a quiet place away from any background noise. Recording close to electronic equipment or air conditioning can affect recording quality.

    How to Protect Your Message
You can protect your message from accidental erasure. Locate the LOCK switch hidden inside the battery compartment. To disable recording, move the switch to the right position.
When recording is disabled with the LOCK switch, the heart will only be able to play back. Therefore, if you have recorded a precious message that you wish to protect, it is recommended that you keep the switch in the LOCK position at all times.
Your recorded message will be stored and preserved forever, even if the batteries are depleted or replaced.
