Product Description

If you don't want to be caught flat-footed when adding up your purchases or writing a check, this hand-held talking Calculator has your name on it. Ultra-compact, it's just half an inch thick, and measures 3" by 5".

This eight-digit talking calculator's perky female voice speaks each key you press as you're entering a calculation, and the answer is read out digit-by-digit. Other handy features include a volume control/off switch, a large LCD screen with half-inch high numbers, and the built-in memory for you to store the results of the last calculation you ran.

Because of its small size, this robust calculator will easily fit in your pocket, backpack or purse, sit on the table by the phone - or tuck into a desk drawer with a million other things. And it's definitely not a toy; this is the calculator we recommend for anyone with a lot of serious work to do. (Uses two AAA batteries - not included.)

Product Directions

Directions for the Talking Pocket Calculator From Future Aids, The Braille Superstore.

After inserting two AAA batteries into the unit, place the calculator in front of you, so the display screen and speaker are facing away.

Turn the calculator's speech on by using the slider switch in the top-left, which also has two volume settings. Now, each key you press will be instantly spoken aloud, as will the result of your calculation.

The four small buttons on the top row, listed from left to right, are: Mem Plus, Mem Minus, Mem Recall, and Mem Clear.

The button with a raised dot on it is 5, the one to the left of 5 is 4, and to the right of 5 is 6. The three number buttons below the 4-5-6 row are 1, 2, and 3, and above the middle 4-5-6 row are 7, 8, and 9.

Below 1 is 0, beneath 2 is Point, and underneath 3 is an extra-long key: Equals.

To the right of Equals (in the bottom-right corner) is Plus, which is also a vertical, double-long key.

To the right of 3 is Minus; after 6 comes Times, and 9 has Divided By immediately to its right.

The bottom left button is Repeat, above which, in order, are All Clear and Clear.

The Percent key is the top-left button on the keypad--found below and to the left of the On-Off switch.

In case you're wondering, the two buttons above Plus are Time and Alarm--which unfortunately don't do anything audible but beep.

There you have it. Happy calculating!
