We've all been there ... sound asleep, only to wake up suddenly, terrified we've overslept and will be late for work or school. And in those first few groggy seconds, you'll really appreciate this clock's number one feature: the enormous TALK button, conveniently found on the top of the large, sturdy half-circle shaped unit. The button's easy to find, and pressing it anywhere will instantly cause this nifty clock to speak the time in a clear, female voice. "It's 7:03 AM." (Whew! Only a few minutes behind schedule!!!)Of course, you should never have to worry about sleeping in anyway, since this clock has that highly-effective beeping alarm, assuming you remember to turn it on, that is. Setting the time and alarm, as well as toggling the Hourly Report feature on and off, is a piece of cake, as the three jumbo-sized round setting buttons are located on the front of the clock, one to the left of the screen and two more to the right. On the underside of the unit is a sliding switch with three settings to control the voice: Off, Low, and High, just to give you ultimate control over when and how loudly your clock speaks. Yet another winning feature about this clock is its low, flat half-saucer shape, meaning it's absolutely impossible to knock it over - and it has rubber feet to help it stay in one place on your nightstand.
In case you hadn't gathered, this clock is one of our absolute favorites. Its rugged yet stylish design makes it ideal for the bedroom or hall table (and just about anywhere else in your home). Begin by inserting 3 AA batteries into the compartment on the bottom of your new clock.
Directly to the right of the battery compartment, you will find a sliding volume switch. Insure this is either in the middle position for regular volume, or closest to you for highest volume.
Now, place the clock on a table in front of you, with the screen facing you. You will find three buttons on the front of the clock. The one on the left is Mode, and the ones on the right are Hour and Minute.
Press Mode once to enter the time-style setting. A single beep is heard. Press Minute to select 24-hour time, or Hour for 12-hour announcement.
Press Mode until Time Set is heard. Press the Minute and Hour buttons to set the time.
Press the Mode button again, and Alarm Set will be heard. You may now repeat the above procedure to set the alarm.
Now, press Mode a final time. You will hear four beeps, indicating the clock is in normal mode.
Press Talk to hear the time.
Press Minute to turn Hourly report on and off. Five beeps will be heard when this feature is on, and a single beep when it is off.
Press Hour to turn the alarm on and off. The clock will either say Alarm On, Snooze On, or Alarm Off.
